Monster High card

Hello everyone!!

So I love this card because of the BLING! I used recollections paper - even the leopard print in her outfit is Recollections. The bats and gems were purchased at Michaels and I think they're recollections brand also.

The wolf girl was purchased from ppbndesigns.com and it's one of my favorites!!!

For the "happy howl-oween" - that was just a text that came on my computer and I had my explore write it on a small strip of paper :)

Easy peasy!!

Any questions? Let me know!

Wall-E card

Hello!

So, I love Pixar - if you can't already tell. So when this little guy popped up on ppbndesigns.com - I had to snag it.

So I used Recollections paper for the cut, like I always do. Recollections paper can be bought at Michael's. I used my Cricut silver marker to kinda give him a shine.

For his eyes - I used a white gelly roll pen to give it that sparkle or reflection, and used the pen again to give some accents.

The enamel dots and gems are by Recollections, also.

The star paper AND the constellation paper are both from a pad that's called "Special Delivery" by Pebbles. They have a boy one and a girl one; this is the boy set. I bought it from craftysteals.com

And to finish it off, I used foam adhesive dots to elevate Wall-E from the page and make him stand out.

So items used:
-SVG from ppbndesigns.com
-Recollections card stock
-Recollections gems and enamel dots
-Foam adhesive dots
-Boy paper pad bought at craftysteals
-Cricut silver pen
-White gelly roll pen.

Thanks for reading!
Have a great day!

Pascal the Chameleon - Guest Designer!

Hey everyone! So my sister Eve is just fifteen and she's new to card making. I showed her some of the files over at PPBN and told her to pick one she liked so I could show her how to use my Cricut Explore and how to piece together.

So she picked the little chameleon from Tangled - Pascal. And he's a cutie.

I'm super proud of how well she did, considering this is her first card EVER!

So - she used Recollections cardstock for Pascal's body. She just chose some colors that she thought would look right. She used a white gelly roll pen for accents.

The background was simple - just using a paper trimmer, she cut some vintage style papers we purchased at Michael's. It was in a "Hot Buy Paper Pack" that I think said Crate Paper. The gem accents in the corner were from the dollar bin section in Michael's too. I think she did a great job on this one!

Lion Cub Card

Hey everyone! I feel like I make so many cards, I don't ever have time to post them! Sorry about the delays :)

So this card is based off of the lion king.
The lion cub was an svg that I purchased at ppbndesigns.com

The paper that I used for the cub is the Recollections brand that can be bought at Michael's. Now when you look at this file you might panic and think "I don't have all the colors I need!!!" - don't panic!

For this cub, he had a bunch of layers but I only had so many colors of paper that I could use. So I used a black, brown, beige, cream and pink; and I made some layers the same color.

Another good tip I have for cuts that might have similar colors but you don't have the shades you need: line it all up in design space.. Make some pieces the same color. Cut it out in the same color. But maybe use a watermark pen on one piece to make it a shade darker than the other.

The background paper was a gift, I honestly don't know where it came from.

The phrase was a quote from the movie that I added in. I used a Staedler Triplus Fineliner in brown to write the phrase in the font "American Dull".

Franken-owl

Hey everyone! Halloween is approaching, so I made this Frankenowl card.

The cut is from ppbndesigns.com

I used Recollections paper for the cut itself (this is my go-to for cuts!).

Enamel dots are also Recollections.

Recollections products are purchased at Michael's craft stores.

I used a white gelly roll pen for accent lines around the owl and for the white reflection dots in the eyes

This one is pretty simple and straight forward.

The background is just three different patterned papers that I used to spruce it up a bit.

Any questions? Let me know!

Spider Couple card

This card is just too cute to creep! Spiders are not my favorite... But these are adorable.

So the spiders and web are from PPBN (ppbndesigns.com).

The spider background paper was a gift so I don't know where it came from unfortunately!

The spiders and web were cut using Recollections paper, like usual.

White gelly roll pen was used for accents.

Enamel dots are from Michael's also (Recollections).

I used foam adhesive dots to raise the spiders up and make them pop out.

Again: huge thanks to Nikki at PPBN for the files!

This one is pretty easy - so if you're a beginner and you're nervous about trying any of these: this is a good one for you!

Surf's Up Card

Hello everyone!

This is seriously one of the cutest cards! It's inspired by Finding Nemo and a little bit of a surfer vibe.

The turtle is from ppbndesigns.com - and it was really easy to put together.

The papers (the Aqua with words and the surfboards) are both from a Carta Bella paper pad called "Beach Boardwalk". I purchased that pad for about $3.00 on craftysteals.com

The "Surfs Up" part was actually on another sheet of paper in the pad, and I just hand cut it with scissors and added it.

For the turtle and the phrase I used dimensional foam dots to give it that raised look.

Paper I used for the turtle is from Michael's and it's called Recollections paper. When you download this file the turtle will have two shades of green - the color of his body and then a background color where the dots on his head come through. What I did was used the same color of paper, but colored in the dots with a watermark pen. This way the color is just about one or two shades darker and looks more realistic than having two greens that may not match too well.

The watermark pen is great and it's a tool that I use the most. It's available at Amazon - see my "Favorite Products and Where to Buy" blog post to purchase it there. I use my watermark pen so much that I am ALWAYS buying new ones. But it's great for shading and coloring your edges - and it always looks perfect because it's a shade or two darker than your cut. Just gives a little bit of dimension.

The other product I used was a white gelly roll pen for accents on the turtle. You can buy on Amazon but it's normally cheaper to buy at a craft store.

Again: big thanks to PPBNdesigns.com for this turtle! Super cute.

"Later, dudes!"

Cute Fox Card

I seriously love this one so much!

The svg came from ppbndesigns.com.

The paper is actually a Doodlebug Design brand of paper - I think this pad was called Friendly Forest. The enamel dots were Recollections brand from Michael's.

I purchased the Doodlebug paper from scrapbook.com - this is a newer pad so it's not on a lot of sites yet. But it's so worth it! I love these papers. So vibrant and colorful.

For this fox, he was easy to piece together but if you're new, you can see the instructions that come with the file from PPBN.

I used Recollections brand of paper for the fox. The brown, orange and cream are all recollections. I used a white gelly roll pen for accents (even the dots in the eyes!). I also used a Versamark watermark pen around the edges of the cuts to give it some life and dimension.

Let me know what you think! I loved making this little cutie. He's one of the cards I want to just keep on my desk forever, HAHA!

Cute "Up!" Themed Card

Hi everyone!

This is my first post about a card I've made. This one was relatively easy, actually and it turned out great.

I used a blank card as my background, and I used two SVG's from www.ppbndesigns.com - both the Old Man and the Balloon house came from there.

Its pretty simple! You download the files, piece together (some people may need to follow the instructions for piecing if you're new to paper piecing), and add to the card!

The paper I used was Recollections paper from Michael's Craft Stores. I love the way it cuts.

I did use a Versamark Watermark Pen on some areas, and I used a White Gelly Roll pen on the cuts for accents.

The inside I left blank, but you can stamp or write a phrase in there. A cute phrase could be "You lift me Up!" or something similar.

This is one of my favorite cards!
